Everyone's favorite medicinal perennial, licorice plant, glycyrrhiza glabra, licorice root, etc. Etc. The roots have either a sweet or salty taste depending on when they are harvested. Not to much of a creeper but can be treated as a perennial if some root stock is left in the ground at the end of the season.
